Benji goes back to school

Benji started back up at his preschool after two weeks off of winter break, and really had a blast being back with his buddies and teachers who he loves so much. Here are pictures from school this week!

Newest favorite thrift store find

A life-sized daschund puppet that looks exactly like like our dog Baby!! Because of course one could not get enough of Baby as is, a singing, dancing Baby is there to always chime in! Benji appreciates this during meal time especially, as he offers the “new” Baby bites of his food, while the real dog sits below the table, annoyed.

Grandpa Lenny music

I just want to write a word to Grandpa Lenny. Although Benji hasn’t seen you in a while, he talks about you every day. He asks for your “guitar”, even though it’s Jamies’ guitar that Joanne gave him, he thinks it’s yours because you play the guitar. We also have a special ritual of listening to Grandpa Lenny music on the long car ride when Benji comes with me twice a week to temple. He always asks for it and it is usually what helps me get him out the door when he is fighting getting his coat and shoes on I’ll say “We have to get in the car and listen to grandpa Lenny”. He plays the air guitar along with it, and listens to the words very seriously. He doesn’t really like the faster songs, like Picasso. Ha!

Children’s Museum

We had so much fun this morning at the Children’s Museum! Its right next to the space needle and Benji was really into that. In the car he actually saw it and said “There SHE is!” He is definitely my child!! we DIED!!! (because I was calling it “her”).

At the museum there is a new Lumber Yard section. We kinda took over and I think emasculated the other dads in the area building things with their kids. Our building was 6 feet tall and amazing!! Benji had a toolbelt on and was in heaven.

Halloween 2011

Halloween!
First Benji was going to be a bumblebee. Then he got stung by a bee while wearing his bee costume during a picture session in the front yard
Then he wanted to be a ghost and started saying lots of boos!! So I made a DIY ghost costume. We went to Columbia City’s awesome family explosion where everyone really does it up and where the best costumes ever. We met our friend Pela, who was dressed like her daddy Luke, and as a surprise her mom Jess was too! We met Dylan who was a very cute Lion and her daddy Jeremy was a zebra and mommy Diana was an elepkant. It was so much fun!
Then we went to Jeremy and Thurston’s for dinner. Benji calls them Germany and Firston. Fun….

Portlandia

Went to Portland this weekend to visit Shi Shi & Devin. Their house is so cute! We had so much fun staying there.

Benji loved being with his auntie and uncie so much- when we got home he kept talking about going back to their house. We miss those fools.
